The Importance of Chakras

There are 7 main chakras within our body.  Seven contains the number three of the heavens and soul with the number four of the earth and body.   The Crown, 3rd eye and throat chakra connect us to the Divine…Heaven.  Have you heard of having the voice of an angel?  This is true whether we speak, write or sing out loud.  It is to tell the truth in the most loving way.  The Heart, Solar Plexus, Sacral and Root connect us to ourselves and to our full being upon this Earth.

Chakras are energy centers within our bodies.  When they are all completely balanced we are healthy and thrive.  We as humans are spiritual beings originating from a spiritual plane, The Universe.  We are energy.  What we are we emit.  Keep your energy happy, healthy and positive.

Here are some ways to recognize your Chakras.

When your Crown Chakra located on the top of your head is healthy you feel energized, happy, smart, aware, humble, connected and feel important to yourself and to the world.  When it is not healthy you feel confused, lonely, scared, sensitive, unimportant, depressed and may have a big ego.

When your 3rd Eye Chakra located between your eyebrows is healthy you feel inspired, passionate, calm, peaceful, clear, aware, certain, and imaginative.  When it is not healthy you feel uninspired, frustrated, uncaring, unfocused, antsy, have no ideas and struggle with life in general.

When your Throat Chakra is healthy you feel positive, upbeat, funny, thankful, appreciative, honest, cheerful and you speak your truth in calm loving ways.  When it is unhealthy you feel negative, become dramatic or are attracted to drama, complain, gossip, make excuses and quit or want to give up.

When your Heart Chakra is healthy you feel loving, kind, forgiving, respectful, grateful, compassionate and love to share.  When it is unhealthy you feel unloving toward yourself and others, bitter, selfish, judgmental, mean, rude, ungrateful and unforgiving.

When your Solar Plexus Chakra is healthy you feel self controlled, wise. worthy, understanding, you believe in a sense of togetherness, you have self esteem and you feel like a miracle.  When it is unhealthy you feel lack of self control, angry, uncaring, have low self esteem, you tend to blame others and become a bully.

When your Sacral Chakra is healthy you feel unique, playful, creative, outgoing, motivated, enthusiastic and you laugh.  When it is unhealthy you feel bored, embarassed, lazy, shy, uncreative, jealous, and become a follower because you have trouble finding your true self.

When your Root Chakra is healthy you feel balanced, strong, understanding, confident, courageous, brave, safe and you feel like you belong.  When it is unhealthy you feel lost, defeated, stubborn, unbalanced, weak, afraid, you lack confidence and feel unsafe.

There are things you can do to heal.  One is to get to the root cause of the problem if you are feeling the negative affects of an emotion.  Therapy helps.

You can also pray to your angels to help you balance and reset your chakras when you are feeling unhealthy.

Know that when you feel or act out in a negative way it is not healthy for you or for the world.  We must find a way to change.  We must be willing and care enough to change.  We don’t deserve to live in a world the way it is now.  Change starts with us.  And Change starts with Awareness.

Here are some other things you can do.

The Crown Chakra is Purple. The color purple has a variety of effects on the mind and body, including uplifting spirits, calming the mind and nerves, enhancing the sacred, creating feelings of spirituality, increasing nurturing tendencies and sensitivity, and encouraging imagination and creativity.  Because of the high vibration of the color purple it penetrates our nervous system. It gets to the core of the psychological and emotional problem. Wearing and surrounding yourself with this color transmutes negative energy.  Many of the Archangels and Divine Beings wear the color purple.  Wearing the color purple will remind you of the true spirit beings you are.  Fill your house with purple to enhance your life.  Use the Amethyst Gemstone to connect with your consciousness.  Eat purple foods such as plums, blackberries, purple grapes, purple kale, purple carrots, purple potatoes, and purple cabbage. Three yoga poses that help are the half lotus, corpse pose and mountain pose.  The half lotus and corpse pose are wonderful ways to meditate and connect.  This reminds us that we are all one.  The mountain pose rejuvenates the mind and helps with balance.  All three help us connect to our Divine Being.

The 3rd Eye Chakra is Indigo or Royal Blue.  It represents knowledge, dignity, intuition and intellect.  The 3rd Eye and it’s color brings us high mental ability and gives us the ability to create without the way of the ego.  The gemstones to use are Iolite and Lapis Lazuli.  Lapis Lazuli is one of the most powerful gemstones there is.  Perfect for the 3rd Eye.  It brings us very deep intuition, wisdom and strength.  The Egyptians believed deeply in this stone and wore lots of Royal Blue.  So much knowledge and wisdom comes from a time of the Egyptians.  Eat foods like concord grapes, blueberries and blue corn.  Three yoga poses are the Standing forward bend, the seated head to knee pose and child’s pose.  My favorite is child’s pose.  For me I’ve found it works the best.  As for the Standing forward bend I stand in mountain pose with hands at my side then raise them up to the sky giving thanks and then fold forward.  In each pose I am grateful to my intuition and to the Divine in me and above me.

The Throat Chakra is a light blue.  The color blue is linked to communication.  It is peaceful, serene and tranquil.  It is soothing, calming and brings forth a sense of healing.  It also brings forth a sense of  Faith and Trust.  For this chakra I love the Blue Opal gemstone, specifically Peruvian.  It reduces stress and anxiety as well as brings courage.  It enhances all types of communication.   For this chakra is is important to drink healthy liquids like grape juice and blueberry tea.  Three yoga poses are neck release movement ear to shoulder pose, lion’s pose, and plow pose.  Plow pose is not the easiest to do but  I found when I was in great need of healing this chakra, it seriously helped me.

The Heart Chakra is green.  Green is the color that transforms your ego allowing you to open up to the sense of love.  Also nature is connected to the color green.  It brings us a sense of peace and love while being connected to the Earth.  It also brings forth self acceptance which in turn will allow us to radiate self love.  There are many types of green foods, superfoods and herbs that support this chakra.  Two of  my favorites is spinach and mint.  Macha green tea with mint is wonderful.  While I love the color green for this chakra as it has many healing powers, I still associate it with the color pink as well.  Archangel Raphael uses the green healing light along with Mother Mary, while Archangel Chamuel and Charity serve on the 3rd Ray of Divine Love and use the Crystal Pink Flame.  I love to keep the Crystal Pink Flame in my heart.  Also knowing that the heart is the center for Wellness which is associated with Green.  Two stones I love for this charka is Adventurine (adventures of the heart) and the every powerful Rose Quartz.  Rose tea and Rose essential oil are also very powerful for the heart, love, and this chakra.  Open yourself up with love.  Hands over heart while taking deep breaths allows you to connect with the true essence  of your being, which is love.  My favorite yoga pose for this chakra is Cobra.  It works wonders.  This particular pose strengthens and opens up the heart beautifully.

The Solar Plexus chakra is yellow.  It represents sunshine, warmth and happiness.  It keeps us cheerful.  With this color you shine from within.  The Solar Plexus is the center of our being.  The “I Am” power.  It gives us self control.  It is also a very affectionate color.  Bananas help greatly with this chakra.  A great gemstone to use for this chakra is Citrine.  It cleanses and balances while increasing personal empowerment and confidence.  It is also one of my go to stones to wake up the mind.  My favorite yoga pose is the Half Lord Of the Fishes pose.  It is helpful to write some “I Am” affirmations for yourself and speak these out loud while engaging in this pose.

The Sacral Chakra is orange.  Many people don’t realize that orange is very calming and healing.  It is part of our sacred fire.  It’s the fire within.  The color orange has the ability to go into our cells, to heal and uplift.  It empowers us to be deserving of love, and love is sacred.  It can also be an earthy color to keep us connected to where we are.  Orange foods give us energy to live our life.  Oranges, cantaloupe and orange peppers are wonderful for this, as is the orange essential oil to wake up or senses.  I love the carnelian stone for this chakra.  It’s nickname is the “creative inner child.”  The bound angle pose and the squat pose and triangle pose work very well for this chakra.  The Warrior poses also help to open up our fire within and stand strong.  It allows the energy within us to flow.  It brightens our day and releases the flow of creativity.  Within that, we feel better about ourselves.

The Root Chakra is red.  Red is the color of being awake.  We are awake here on this earth and ready to thrive.  Red is the color of life’s blood, it gives us a passion for life.  It makes us feel alive.  When you feel blessed to be upon this earth you will be well connected.  If you are having trouble feeling connected, go walk out side in the grass barefoot.  It is very grounding, as is doing anything in nature such as working with the dirt of the earth while planting a garden or potting flowers.  Eating any type of rooted vegetable helps.  Eating red apples helps you to energize yourself and this chakra.  The Ruby and the Bloodstone are wonderful stones to use.  They connect us to vitality and to the heart which is the life’s blood in us all.  These stones also keep us faithful to ourselves and to others.  The mountain pose and tree pose assist with this chakra.  Keep yourself firmly planted on the earth to feel balanced.  Going for a walk is also very grounding and it balances both sides of the brain which leads to better health.

There are also 2 more Chakras that are important to connect to .  It is the Soul Star Chakra above the Crown and the Earth Star Chakra below the Root.

The Soul Star Chakra connects us to who we are and where we came from.  It is part of our higher self that knows why we are here.  Within this there is no thought of ego.  When connecting with this Charka, people are happy, joyful and healthy.  We remember that we are full of Love and that we are Love.  We come from a place of purity.  In that event, the Soul Star Chakra is White.  It is directly connected to the white light on the other side and keeps everything pure.  When we remember the pure beings we are, we are happier and healthier.  Within that we create change upon this Earth.  It’s when we forget who we are that we become fearful and can act out in ways that are not appropriate.  We have to remember that we come from a place of Love.  Using the Nirvana Quartz will assist with this as well as the Clear Quartz and the Smokey Quarts.  I also know that the Rose Quartz will assist in us remembering we are Love and it reminds us where we came from.  Meditation yoga poses will assist with this.  In a seated position with feel flat on the ground allow your hands to rest palms up to receive.  Focus on the soul star chakra.  You can also do this lying down palms up or in the lotus position.  Find one that works best with your body and allows you to receive the energy from the Universe to the Earth and back up.  You can take 3 full breaths to feel the energy of the Universe through the top of your head down to your feet and deep into the heart of Mother Earth.  The Earth Star Chakra.  Then take 3 full breaths back up from the Earth, through your feet and out through the top of your head.

The Earth Star Chakra has similarities to the Soul Star regarding remembering why we are here and that we are made of Love.  However when our Earth Star Chakra is not healthy and out of balance, we feel out of balance.  Symptoms of dizziness, vertigo, digestive disorders and circulatory problems can arise.  Like the Root Chakra, we need to know we are safe.  Know that the Earth and nature have much healing properties.  Take a walk, preferably out in nature to restore your balance.  Do exercises that promote balance of the body.  Tree Pose and Chair Pose really help you to connect deep within.  All yoga poses create the type of balance your body needs.  Be sure to connect with nature.  Using the Tiger’s Eye gemstone is invaluable.

These are the sign of 9, which is the number of completion.  When all 9 are healthy and in proper working order we are complete.

Remember, eat healthy, get exercise, and think positive thoughts.  Keep your energy healthy.  Know that when you feel off balance there is a reason.

  1. Appreciating learning more about “There are also 2 more Chakras that are important to connect to. It is the Soul Star Chakra above the Crown and the Earth Star Chakra below the Root.” Didn’t know this so thanks! I’ve studied the chakras and even offered an online writing course with them as the creative prompts for 7 weeks.

Your blog is timely as I’m now completing Chapter 7 in my book, so the chakras and the #7 symbolism is on my heart and mind.

  5. I was taught that each chakra has a vibrational sound. I meditate on the center that needs attention by using the sound as a mantra. It certainly does get things “humming!”
